Ara and the Shell That Wouldn't Open
The Visual Style For this project, I aimed for a soft, textured, and magical atmosphere. • Color Palette: Warm pinks and peaches for the characters to contrast against the refreshing blues and teals of the deep sea. • Textural Feel: I used digital brushes that mimic traditional watercolor and color pencil textures to give the book a hand-crafted, cozy feel. • Character Design: Focusing on Ara’s expressive eyes and flowing hair to evoke empathy and wonder in young readers. What I Did • Character Design: Developing Ara and her marine friends. • Storyboarding & Composition: Planning the flow from single pages illustrations. • Color Scripting: Setting the mood for different scenes, from sunny surface waters to the quiet, glowing depths. • Final Rendering: Adding those final sparkles and light rays to bring the magic to life. Let's Collaborate! I am currently open for new children’s book projects, editorial illustrations, and custom portraits. 📩 Contact me at: KanaiArtbyKanaierru@gmail.com ✨ Instagram: @kanaierru or @kanaiart Tools used: Procreate
